The Item Upgrader in World of Warcraft
The War Within introduced two gear upgrade currencies, Valorstones and Harbinger Crests. They can be traded at the item upgraders NPCs Cuzolth and Vaskarn.
Each item can be upgraded to its highest level for a given slot once. After that, upgrades to that slot will be less expensive. The pity system, introduced with The War Within, also reduces the extreme variance of upgrades.
Upgrades
In gaming upgrades are the replacements of components that enhance performance or add new features. Upgrades can be bought or earned in many ways, such as through events in the game or cash shop items.
In contrast to enchantments, which can be added to any item, upgrades are tied to specific items and are only applied to those items. A weapon that is already equipped cannot have an upgrade applied. The concept of upgrades is fairly new. It was introduced in patch 4.1.0. However, certain items (such Ornn's equipment and the baby Dracolich) are not upgradeable. The gear can be upgraded by purchasing an upgrade recipe from a vendor and combining it with the item in the appropriate upgrade slot. The player can determine how many upgrades a piece of equipment has by looking at it's inventory icon, or by searching for that item in the shop.
There are two major drawbacks to the upgrade system. First, it can be difficult to identify which items can be upgraded because upgrade vendors may not display them all. The upgrade textures are rendered over the model of the item which hides enchantment information as well as other details.
The other drawback is that upgrades can be costly. Each step in a gear's level of upgrade costs a certain amount of Valorstones or crests depending on the slot and level. Weapons typically require more crests and Valorstones to upgrade than bracers or gloves for instance. Cash shop items can help to lower the cost.
Recycles
Many people are transforming their buying habits as they become more conscious of the environmental impact of single-use items. Rerolls
In Genshin Impact - or any gacha game for that matter - rerolling is an essential tool. It allows players to re-try their chances of getting the specific weapon or character they desire for aesthetic reasons or because they believe that it would fit well on their team.
Rerolls allow players to refresh items for the current waves in exchange for a small amount of materials. The costs of these weapons rise as the number of rerolls per rows increases, however certain items may not be offered in any way (for instance, a melee weapon will never appear for players who can only use weapons with a range).
As an item increases in stats, it enters the Staple Pool where it gains additional bonuses. These bonuses are based on nature of the item it is. For instance, an upgrade that boosts a weapon's main stat will also increase its additional stat. If the item is rerolled the extras will be altered.
If a player has endurance to roll a reroll they can click the button with the arrows spinning to swap their item to a different. The new item will be of the same level but an additional set of bonuses, based on if the previous item was a sword, gun or a watch.
Rerolling doesn't reset an item's current bonus levels, however the player will be required to meet the minimum requirements for stats to qualify for the special ability. It isn't easy to find a high-level item with the bonus you desire however, this gives them the opportunity to explore other options in the future without having to spend any additional resources.
Upgrading an item won't just increase the value of its bonuses, it can also give the item a boost in its tier which means that it's guaranteed to receive a certain amount of bonus stats when upgraded in the future. It is important to only upgrade your equipment as much as you can, as any additional upgrades won't make a difference.
Sets
A set is a set of items connected by a particular property. They are commonly used in math and can be represented as . Sets possess a variety of important properties, including the associative property, and the commutative property. These properties are crucial in understanding how sets function and are applicable to real-world situations.
In the game, items can be upgraded in sets to gain additional benefits. For example an armor set pieces may give a boost to the armor's defense, while a weapon may offer an additional damage base. These additional stats are applied following the base stat and before flats and percentages. These additional stats are an excellent way to add value.
When upgrading an item, it will replace the old base stat with the upgraded one. For example, an item that had 20 base damage now has 40 base damage. The base armor and upgrade requirements will remain. This is a great way to get a high-quality item for a reasonable price.
Upgrades of exclusive items can be very profitable, particularly when they come with an interesting mod. A rare belt with a +5 IAS for instance can have a huge impact on a build's power particularly in the early stages of hell. It's a great way to boost the value of an item by adding an ideal or high-roll.
Item Upgraders differ for unique, set and rare items. When an item reaches level 10, it is likely to be upgraded to its base type. For example upgrading an item that is unique and has the highest defense roll will result in an armor item of elite quality with the same base type. It is not a sure result, but there are some cases where an upgrade won't alter the type of the base item.
It is recommended that players prioritise upgrading their BiS (Best in Slot) items first, and then other non-BiS items. This will provide the player with a solid base to build upon as they progress in their leveling. Then, item upgrading can focus on advancing their tiers and gain additional stats.
